I've had many guitar amps throughout my career, including new and vintage tube, solid state and modeling ones, and this little amp can run with the best. You can keep it simple and use one of the amp models and your own effects pedals.
This amp takes outboard pedals very well. You can play this amp at whatever volume you need and it sounds the same. If you want to go deeper, the Fender Fuse software, your computer and a USB cable, makes it even easier to edit, save and load other players creations if you want. One small negative, there is no Fuse app for the Apple or Android tablets. Come on Fender! For my unique purposes, this amp is the best there is.
I sing a lot of small venue situations and want the effects to beautify the over all sound and, of course, my voice. It is such a pleasure to have a decently powered amp, light weight, with effects all in one easy to move and hook up set up. This is not a super powerful amp that you can hook numerous things up to. Voice and guitar. I use the lesser model, also. The Mustang II. It is great also, just not as much umph.
Musicians should always know their style and choice of music. An example Jazz players will choose smooth warm sounds with a thick body or semi-hollow guitar.fender mustang II (v.2) modeling amplifier review xro.batnicanning.pw
Musicians into Metal will select a different instrument package. The same goes for the country, blues, or rock musician. Back to the Site. What's Good: Amp modeling is pretty accurate. It has a nice look and not too heavy. Relatively simple to use. Has clear clean tones and the Fender Bassman model is spot on. I can play country or metal on this amp. I was able to dial in a really good David Gilmore The Wall sound, too.
I played some Hank Williams Jr. What's bad: It has limited storing for saved settings; only t wo for each amp model. The effects are limited for each effect type, although you can do some deep editing using the free software and connecting it to your computer. Ain't nobody got time for dat! Also, the sound is very directional, meaning you must be in front of the speaker to get the holistic range and dynamics; miking it would fix that for live sound.
That is true with a lot of modeling amps. Awesome amp. Just exactly what I needed. Best deal yet on the bay. I had one of these two years ago and had to sell it needed cash, I saw this one on ebay for a steel and had to buy it again, this time I will keep it, some times you don,t know what you have til its gone, I got a great deal for all the options it offeres.
This review appears elsewhere for the Fender Mustang 1 amp. This review is specifically about the Fender Mustang II V 2 Excellent amp with a simple modification Good sounding amp - with a bit of work.
Stock: 3 stars. Programming the settings is a nuisance. Fender's Fuse software, connecting to the USB connector on the amp works very well and provides thousands of combinations of sounds which you can hear in real time as you fiddle with the settings. Downloading the owner's manual is a must in any case. The back is thin composite wood, more like heavy cardboard, and resonates like a bass drum head, soaking up much of the low frequencies and making what bass there is boomy and indistinct.
Do this Drill out a hole for the AC socket. Clamp the plywood tight to the inside of the back with Titebond and let it dry overnight. When you put the back back on, you will hear a stunning improvement in the sound of this amp. Solid clean bass, less feedback with an archtop due to a smoother, less peaky bass rolloff. Now you've got a guitar amp that sounds like something way more expensive and is a pleasure to play through, and only a little bit heavier. Very fine effects!
Well pleased!Superior quality, solderable back! Nylon shaft pots were used in most Fender silverface series amps from the late 60s and 70s.

Wiring for the switch is connected via 6 solder points holes on the PC board, immediately below the 3 pot terminals. When the potentiometer knob is pulled out, C1 is connected to 1, and C2 is connected to 3. When the pot knob is pushed in, C1 is connected to 2, and C2 is connected to 4. When the knob is pulled out, C1 is connected to 1, and C2 is connected to 3. These pots easily replace the standard volume controls for many amplifiers. These pots have PC pins, but wires are easily soldered to these pins without issue. The choices of potential mods are only limited by your imagination.
They are also OEM replacements for several brands of amps. Available only in 1 Meg Audio Taper. For a downloadable pot cross-reference for Fender brownface models, click here. Large selection for many models from the s up to the present day.It comes with a Celestion 12T Retro 30 is rated for 75 watts and the amp is but they are solid state watts not tube so I'm thinking it's OK but would definitely.
I'd agree that the Vet 30 would probably hang just fine with the 75 SS watts. Then the Vet 30 will help head you in that direction! It takes the warmth of an ET65, and adds the more urgent nature of a vintage Britt speaker Oh, and it'll easily handle the amps power, too.
I'm leaning towards the Retro 30 purely based on sound samples, I like the low end and crisp highs that seem to balance out the mids. The Liberator sounds great too, just more aggressive mid-range. Clean sounds are pretty important to me so I'm trying to find a speaker thats balanced tonally. Hey Vaughn, I took your advice and looked into the Liberator and decided to give it a shot. Holy cow! I'm completely blown away!
The Celestion can't hold a candle to this speaker. Detail, sensitivity, tonal balance, girth, and presence - just amazing! It truly liberated the amp and made it sound much more expensive. Pound for pound, very hard to beat.
Fender Mustang III review
Thanks again for pointing me in this direction, I couldn't be happier! Sincerely, Jim Carter. I too am interested in a replacement of teh stock g12T speaker. To me it sounds very harsh. I'm looking for a speaker that will warm up the sound, and that will get rid of the harshness. I was wondering if the watt version of the blackhawk would be a good choise. Of not, what would be?
Fender Mustang III 1x12 Combo
When I look at the wattage, the Liberator is 80 watts. The mustang III is Watt. Is the speaker not underpowered for the amplifier? Can you tell me the tonal differences between the three speakers?
I'm looking for a smooth and warm sound without the shrillness. I can't find any real reference from Fender For instance, a watt 4-EL34 Marshall can easily maintain watts continuous power with peaks well above. Usually but not always a SS amp rated at watts would only roughly compare to that of a watt tube amp. Installation was quite easy. The only thing that is different with the mustang is the extra ground wire attached to the speaker housing.
According to Fender this wire must not be electricaly conneced to the minus lug of the speaker. Fortunately this is not the case. The minus and the plus lugs are not connected to the housing.
The speaker is in there for a couple of days and is starting to break in. Not that ot sounds bad right out of the box.Log in Become a member. Fender Mustang III. Product presentation. Price engine. It is a really great looking amp, but more importantly is the sound. I have played several other amps Fenders Marshalls and Oranges mainly and as far as sound quality goes, this one definitely holds up.
It has built in amp modeling so it can make itself sound like some really popular and vintage amps. These modeling are definitely accurate as far as tone and other specificities that each amp holds, but of course it isn't able to make a perfect match.
I love the mustang! At first it does sound like a really nice tube amp, but a well experienced ear can probably tell the difference. But that isn't to say that it isn't a nice amp, especially for the cost. Additionally, it has a wide variety of effects that really add a lot to it and are equally very high quality, and the fact that you completely customize each really sells me on it. I can't say anything about reliability really because I haven't had it for long at all, but I can say it is very well constructed and I am expecting it to last very long.
The controls are all easy to use and actually make sense and it is able to get very loud. All around a superb purchase. Did you find this review helpful? I am one guy that must of brought 15 different amp for my home use none please me peavey vypred vox valvetronix and crappy Marshall MG none did the job for home.
Got the mustang ll and it was amazing so I decided to upgrade too the lll series blown me away because of the versatility. You can tweak any amp model the way you like set it and just select any amp model from bassman to deluxe twin with the same tweak that you set. So much you can do with this amp. Had tube amps for home use I hate them to loud and you lower them because they are tube can't get the full tone you want especially if you want a smooth sound.
